Customer Testimonials for Care Around the Block

Word of mouth and a good reputation are vitally important in the home care industry. After all, people trust people with real experiences. And particularly in the senior care industry, those real experiences are highly valuable due to the personal types of services and relationships built between providers and clients/families.


At Care Around the Block, client reviews and testimonials are what keep us going both figuratively and literally. Without a deep understanding of what we are doing well or what we can improve upon, we would stay stagnant. But because of our wonderful clients and their families, we are able to have open conversations with them about our services and their experiences with us.

Care Around the Block Testimonials

Over the past few months, we have taken a keen interest in truly understanding our impact on those we serve. We do this by requesting reviews from our lovely current clients if they are comfortable, as well as our past clients and their families. A few weeks ago, our Marketing Coordinator, Olivia Manning, along with one of our Care Managers, Stephanie Hatcher, and Client Services Coordinator, Angie Jones, sat down with two sisters who have been CAB clients for 6 years! In addition to speaking with these two clients, a family member of a former client has given us permission to share her experience with CAB in her own words*!

When I think about where I was only one year ago, I just feel so sad. My loved one, my husband of just 15 months, was nearing his final days. He was unable to do anything for himself…anything. Diagnosed in 2022, he was living with ALS. At first, we only noticed that he couldn’t do a few things, like reach up into a cabinet to get a glass. Then there were more things, things we don’t even think about doing, he couldn’t do.


Before long, after the summer of 2023, I was calling on his family and our church family, mostly, to come sit with him.  As long as someone was there with him, he could get by without needing much of anything. I would only be gone for short periods of time and then come back and attend to his needs. That soon changed, too, and I was no longer able to leave him with family or church family, because of his needs. He required more and more, and I had to have some help.


I reached out to a family friend, Casey Rausin, who I knew had cared for her dad through a tremendous accident that caused him to depend on someone for everything he needed, and I knew she was helping others through her job at Care Around the Block.


She was so helpful in assuring me that they could help me. She came out right away and did an assessment of what was needed. She sent a caring young lady to my door to help me.


See, I was concerned about who I could find to help me. I had searched and talked to several companies that provide in-home care. But I just wasn’t comfortable with any of them when I thought about my husband’s care. Would they be trustworthy with his needs? Would they be trustworthy enough to be in my home? Would they come in and want to take over what I was doing? Would they take anything that wasn’t theirs? I wasn’t willing to hire just anyone from any company.


I was blessed to know about Casey and the Care Around the Block company, so I trusted her to lift that burden from me. After all, it’s what they do! I was given peace of mind after the young lady became acquainted with us and knew what I needed her to do. I didn’t have to worry about his care because she was right by his side, whether he was sleeping or needed anything at all. She was gentle and caring and willing and able to do anything necessary for his care.
